It’s so great!!! Finally the MAX_PATH Limitation is gone in .Net Framework starting with Framework 4.6.2. And in Windows 10 Version 1607 you can turn it off.

More Infos for .Net:

And for Windows 10:

And if you don’t find the Windows Policy, like on my machine you can use this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\LongPathsEnabled = 1

Have fun! Now it is time to change to Windows 10 - if you haven’ t until now!!!

I wrote a little Action Scheduler. You can Download the source from

https://actionscheduler.codeplex.com/

Short Doku:

ActionScheduler does the following for you:

  • It runs an action in the backgound or on the Main UI thread.
  • It can delay the execution of the action
  • It can start a action on a different thread or on the main UI Thread after the first action is completed.
  • It is canceling a scheduled action if the same action is scheduled again.
  • It can even cancel multiple scheduled actions of a certain scopeKey

And of course: ActionScheduler is thread save!

So you can easily build complex multithreaded apps.
